About Solve Accounting & Finance
Solve Accounting & Finance is a small team of qualified, professional and highly experienced people, there to give you the best possible service and experience that you could want.
The Solve people are:
Kim Hume, ACMA, CGMA – Partner and Chartered Management Accountant
Kim started the practice in 2010, with the aim of providing the superior level of support and financial knowledge to independent businesses that is often only available to large corporations. Kim’s last role before setting up Solve Accounting & Finance was Finance Manager at General Electric, one of the world’s largest companies. Prior to GE, Kim worked extensively in the retail industry and is able to bring her commercial skills and experience to the benefit of her business customers in Solve. Kim is a qualified Management Accountant, with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and also with the Chartered Institute of Global Management Accountants – and incidentally, obtained the highest mark of ALL female candidates in the UK when she qualified. (So you’re in good hands!) Kim also has a degree in International Business Management from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, so there is more than just accounting skills in her business portfolio – she is able to comment and advise on many areas of your business. On a more personal level, Kim lives near Malton, North Yorkshire and loves spending time with her family, going to zumba and pilates and socialising with good friends.

Polly Pearson ACA – Partner and Chartered Accountant
Polly joined Solve Accounting & Finance as a partner in 2011, also leaving behind the corporate world as she said goodbye to a financial management role at Aviva, one of the UK’s largest companies. Polly has also worked in the food industry, one of the most competitive and demanding industries to learn from. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant, with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, trained and qualified with Price Waterhouse – a household name in terms of large and respected accountancy practices – so you can be sure of the highest possible standards when Polly is taking care of your finances. Polly also graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, with a BA Honours degree in Agricultural and Food Marketing. When she’s not working, Polly enjoys her busy family life, with three children (and a new dog!) taking up most of her time, although she still manages to make time for entertaining friends and family on a very regular basis!
